After a busy summer of travel and EXTREMELY hot weather here in Toronto, I was finally able to sit down and read 'In The Name Of Gucci' by Patricia Gucci. This Memoir allowed Patricia to tell the untold story of the iconic brand and the secret love affair and life of her Parents, Aldo and Bruna Gucci, through personal memories, interviews with her mother, and unseen love letters from Aldo (and these love letters truly showed the unconditional love Aldo had from Bruna and contained some of the most romantic passages I have EVER read). From 1956, when Bruna first walked into 21 Via Condotti, to the ups and downs of having an affair with a married man in the Italian spotlight, to getting pregnant, moving to London to hide the pregnancy, and giving birth to Patricia in March 1963, to the high and lows of growing the Gucci name worldwide, then ending with Aldo's devastating battle with cancer and ultimately his death in January 1990.

I started reading this Memoir with only knowing what Gucci, the Luxury Brand, was, whether being Fashion Shows during Milano Fashion Week, the signature logo, or celebrity endorsements, I had no idea the iconic brand had such a scandalous history behind it. From affairs to betrayal to a jail sentence, this Memoir truly has it all. I could go on and on about this book, I honestly couldn't put it down, but don't want to give too much away. So go out and get your own copy, I promise you you won't be disappointed.
